Take This Job and Move it - HOME

I just read this post on a Wordpress blog and I have yet to figure out who the blog owner is but to give credit it's called I'm Not Actually a Geek. While it's not specific to telework, those who work remotely are most apt to use social network tools to communicate. So, social networker, beware! Here's the post:

A lucky job applicant tweeted the following:

"Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work."

This tweet caught the attention of Tim Levad, a channel partner advocate for Cisco. To which he responded:

Who is the hiring manager? I’m sure they would love to know that you will hate the work. We here at Cisco are versed in the web.

I think it's safe to say this person lost that job before he/she even started it.

Who makes the decision to integrate telework programs?

In your experience, is it a financially based decision? Is it made by the owner or CEO; the CFO; human resources, or someone else?
